Where to eat in Curaçao: 8 Incredible Restaurants to Try

One of the things that most impressed me in Curaçao is the rich offer in restaurants that is available. While the choice of ingredients didn’t seem to be very extensive (since Curaçao is an island), the creativity I saw in the kitchen was unparalleled. During my trips, I often prepare myself some food, but in Curaçao I really broke the bank given all the options I wanted to try. Here is my personal recommendation of where to eat in Curaçao.

1. MosaCaña Bar & Kitchen (Willemstad)

A stylish, laid-back spot tucked into a leafy courtyard, MosaCaña serves small plates with big, bold flavors. Think Latin, Caribbean, and Asian fusion, perfect for sharing with friends over a craft cocktail or two. The first day I came I was turned down, so I had to reserve my spot!

2. Saint Tropez Oceanclub (Willemstad)

Overlooking the ocean, Saint Tropez offers a sleek atmosphere with an international and varied menu. The pool and lounge area make it great for chilling or sunset dinners. I was so hungry that day that I didn’t notice that my photo of the food was blurry, so here goes the interior only. That being said, I ordered the seared tuna asian style and the New York Cheesecake and they were both excellent!

3. BijBlauw (Willemstad)

A boutique hotel with a charming seafront restaurant, BijBlauw is a perfect location for a meal. The interior is crozy and with class, and the service was excellent, as well as the food. A charming sunset spot.

4. Kome (Willemstad)

I loved the decor of this place, with a mural painted by Francis Sling on one of the walls. The food was also excellent, although the portions leaned towards a smaller size, as it’s a fine dining experience.

5. Downtown by 5999 (Willemstad)

Downtown by 5999 offers a trendy environment with delicious dishes, many of them to share. The dishes were beautifully presented and very tasty!

6. Gouverneur de Rouville (Willemstad)

For history, harbor views, and hearty local fare, Gouverneur de Rouville is a must. It’s located in a colonial-style building with a breezy terrace overlooking the famous Handelskade. It had a fresh breeze and I could see one of the large ships passing by from the balcony.

7. De Visserij (Piscadera)

A casual favorite among locals and visitors alike, De Visserij is all about ultra-fresh seafood. That’s how it works: you line up, choose your fish (caught that morning), and they grill or fry it for you while find a seat by the water. Informal but delicious.

8. Koraal Rooftop Terrace

A little further out, great option if you’ve been enjoying the Playa Porto Marie or Baaibooi beach. Koraal is a rooftop bar and terrace with panoramic views of the ocean. I saw the sunset from there – it’s an excellent spot!
